Tendering Specialist, HV Projects

Scope of Work: A key role in a growing team that will support the HV Grid Engineering business with the formulation of competitive bids, estimates and quotes.

Turner Lovell is recruiting a Tendering Specialist to join a global leader in sustainable energy and power grid technologies in Ireland, offering a fantastic opportunity for the right individual to join the leader in their specialism. You will work with your colleagues to formulate competitive bids, estimates and quotations, considering the best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations for each situation; and ensuring tenders are well-documented in a timely manner with full and accurate costs.

Your key responsibilities in the role will include:

  • Managing the preparation of all technical, financial aspects, and project management aspects of bids, estimates and quotations.
  • Ensuring inputs for editing activities are provided on time and according to established quality procedures, as well as managing external services to support bids etc.
  • Collecting and archiving documentation regarding offers and orders, and record assumptions and decisions made during the development process.
  • Identifying potential risks in bids, quotations, and estimates, as well as related contract agreements; participating in the Risk Review process according to company policies.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships to understand their needs and ensure a positive customer experience throughout the sales process; providing necessary technical support to Sales Managers during customer meetings.
  • Identifying potential vendors for equipment and materials required for the project and technically evaluating supplier offers to ensure they match specifications; collaborating with Supply Chain Management to coordinate requests to subcontractors.

The ideal profile is someone who has:

  • Proven experience in formulating competitive bids, estimates, and quotations.
  • Strong technical knowledge in defining suitable technology and product types.
  • Expertise in managing financial aspects, including total price sheets and cash flow analysis.
  • Experience in project management, quantifying hours of engineering and commissioning.
  • Ability to coordinate bid/estimate/quotation processes, ensuring timely and quality inputs.
  • Proficiency in documentation, status reporting, and analyzing tender outcomes.
  • Skilled in risk identification and management, following company policies.
  • Ability to collect and collate technical and cost information for proposal preparation.
  • Strong customer relationship management skills and technical support abilities.
  • Experience in supplier selection and evaluation, and collaboration with Supply Chain Management.
