Procurement Buyer

Turner Lovell is partnering with a global leader in energy technology and infrastructure, that plays a central role in driving the energy transition through large-scale renewable and infrastructure projects across the UK and internationally.
As part of this transformation, an opportunity has emerged for a Procurement Buyer to join the team. This role is key to supporting the seamless delivery of renewable energy and construction projects that are vital to the UK’s net-zero goals. You will be embedded in the project delivery team. This role is a blend of strategic sourcing and hands-on supplier engagement, ideal for a proactive buyer who wants variety and influence in their work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage procurement plans aligned to project timelines and supplier capabilities.
- Engage with project site teams to ensure smooth day-to-day operations for indirect materials and services.
- Lead RFQs, supplier negotiations, and commercial evaluations.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve operational issues as they arise.
- Own vendor onboarding and data management (excluding administration, which is handled by the Operational Procurement Service Centre).
- Deliver cost-saving initiatives and supplier development strategies.
- Analyse spend data using Excel and support decision-making through robust market insights.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to meet procurement and business objectives.
Requirements:
- Experienced Buyer or Procurement Specialist with a strong background in indirect procurement.
- Sector experience in renewable energy, construction, infrastructure, or utilities is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to manage suppliers across distributed project sites.
- Knowledge of travel, fleet, logistics, and site services categories.
- Comfortable working in a project-based environment with shifting priorities and active construction schedules.
- Proficient in SAP or SAP Ariba (preferred), with strong Excel and data handling skills.
- Familiarity with vendor onboarding, compliance, and database management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills – both on-site and remotely.
