Electrical Site Manager / Site Supervisor – HV Substation

- Rate: £400 – £450 per day (inside IR35)

Turner Lovell are urgently recruiting for an emerging renewable energy company with M&E projects across the UK and Ireland. Our client are looking for an experienced Site Manager to work on UK electricity transmission projects, currently in the M&E installation phase.
The Site Manager will focus on the M&E installation & commissioning phases for a HV project, in East Anglia. The successful candidate will manage & supervise the installation and assembling of HV equipment, high voltage cables, switchgear – transformers, circuit breakers and all associated AIS or GIS components. We are looking for an established Site Manager, or an aspiring/proactive Site Supervisor, willing to take the next step in their career. It is a brilliant chance to work within an established team, working within the renewable energy sector.
Duties:
- To act as the M&E Site Manager for new & extension energy facility projects in the UK and manage subcontractors on site.
- Day-to-day management of site personnel, subcontractors, and general workers on site
- Ensure site management procedures and policies are always followed by site personnel.
- Have a working knowledge of construction health, safety, and environmental legislation.
- Liaison with the client HSE advisors and support teams
- Liaison with individuals from the site management, engineering, and commissioning teams
- Monitoring and logging of the Contractor’s progress and performance on-site supporting the Senior Site Manager / Project Manager
Requirements:
- Demonstrate recent experience of managing major and complex HV sites (£10m+)
- Have a comprehensive knowledge of UK substation electrical equipment.
- Electrical / Mechanical Engineering degree or further education qualification
- Current SMSTS/SSSTS & CSCS/CCNSG Safety Passport.
- Electrical Engineering Degree or similar preferred.
- Clear communication strategy, ability to motivate teams and work to tight deadlines.
