Our client is an international EPC from with a large pipeline of electricity transmission and HVDC projects across Europe. We are currently supporting them to recruit a Senior Project Manager responsible for the onshore construction of HVDC converter stations and associated infrastructure in the UK.

As HDVC Senior Project Manager, you will take responsibility for a project organisation delivering a project, +£2bn in value, that will play a key role in the UK energy transition. This is a fantastic opportunity to have accountability for the P&L, project delivery, customer interface and people management. By joining at the early stages of the project, you will be able to positively influence this major turnkey HVDC project with the support of other senior leaders in the business.

The role:
 

  • Lead the onshore project team to deliver the EPC turnkey HVDC project
  • Lead individuals or teams responsible for design, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning.
  • Provide leadership to all risks and opportunities associated with the various scopes of work.
  • Drive high standards in HSE, program, planning, environmental and quality.
  • Develop partnerships with key stakeholders to ensure the project is delivered on time, budget and to customer satisfaction.
  • Provide regular reports on the operational and financial status of the project to senior stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Participate in tenders, contract negotiations, settlements and claims.

The Person

  • MSc, BSc in engineering, project management or construction
  • Experience leading HVDC projects or large-scale transmission projects in the UK.
  • At least 5 years as a Project Manager with associated project management training / qualifications.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary trams with complex project interfaces
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and management skills to lead challenging HVDC project.
