Project Manager – HV Substation

• Rate: £400 – £450 per day depending upon experience

Turner Lovell is searching for an Electrical HV Project Manager who can lead, coordinate and oversee multiple HV substation projects regarding switchgear (11kV and 33kV) delivery. In particular, you will be responsible for the programme, budgets, scheduling of works and interface with the relevant client package managers associated with works.

Proven experience coordinating project deliverable for high voltage substations (primary and secondary equipment) connecting to National Grid, SSE or Scottish Power frameworks is essential.

Key Duties:

• Lead all subcontractor interface activities in relation to various HV electrical scopes of work
• Coordinating the work packages with the client and other major principle contractors on the project
• Provide robust project management skills in work planning, resource allocation, client approval, and dispute resolution
• Responsible for ensuring the different work package milestones are achieved and track progress against budget and plan
• Provide onsite oversight of subcontractor I&C activities

Key requirements:

• 10+ years of work experience in electrical engineering or renewable energy construction sector
• Previous experience working as Project Manager on HV substations during installation and commissioning phases
• Degree or Masters in engineering related field (e.g. electrical, mechanical)
• Project Management related qualification or training is essential
• Willingness to travel to suppliers/project locations across Europe
