Turner Lovell is seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor to support a key client delivering large-scale renewable and grid infrastructure works in Scotland. This role offers the chance to directly contribute to vital energy developments supporting the UK’s net zero goals.

We’re looking for a proactive environmental professional with in-depth knowledge of UK and Scottish legislation and hands-on experience working on construction or energy infrastructure sites. You’ll be embedded on site and act as a main point of contact for environmental compliance, reporting directly to the Environmental Manager and coordinating across internal and external teams.

Key Duties:

  • Carry out environmental inspections, site audits, and daily compliance checks
  • Support regulatory compliance including DCO obligations, water and pollution control, and COSHH
  • Coordinate environmental actions on site, working with stakeholders and contractors
  • Contribute to the development and upkeep of Environmental and Energy Management Systems
  • Train site personnel on environmental processes and statutory responsibilities
  • Manage and track permit and consent requirements throughout the project lifecycle
  • Engage with ECoWs and ensure alignment with best environmental practice
  • Review site performance and recommend improvements to mitigate risks
  • Communicate findings to senior teams and maintain detailed compliance records

Candidate Profile:

  • Degree-qualified in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a relevant field (required)
  • Background in environmental roles on energy or infrastructure projects
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK environmental law, with specific expertise in Scottish regulation
  • Confident working independently on site and managing compliance processes
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and reporting capabilities
