HSE Advisor
- East Anglia / Cambridge / Norfolk / Pboro
- Start date: ASAP / November 2023. 12 month rolling contract
- Rates: £400 – £450 per day
Turner Lovell are recruiting for a HSE Advisor with experience to develop and implement HSE policies and implement standards on a large construction project in East Anglia.
In this role, you will be supporting our client to ensure civil construction and M&E activities undertaken by internal and subcontractor personnel are always following safe practices whilst installing HV equipment. The ideal candidate will have similar experience on large civil & M&E construction projects with a fast-track build program.
Duties:
- Provide HSE leadership on the construction site.
- Undertaking regular audits and inspections on operation sites and identify areas of improvement
- Lead the implementation of HSE initiatives
- Review internal teams and subcontractor personnel activities and manage / follow up Non-conformances
- Deliver training and site inductions.
- Attend and be a representative on all site, project, and safety meetings.
- Ensure sub-contractor safety documents are produced and available on site, relevant and in accordance with best practice and current legislation
- Assist site management on the preparation of the safety file for handover to the client at the end of the project
Requirements:
- At least 5 years’ experience as a HSE Advisor on construction projects.
- Experience as an HSE Advisor on HV substation projects or similar safety critical environments (desirable).
- Formal education in health and safety, for example an NVQ level 6 in H&S (or equivalent)
- Ability to recommend preventative HSE actions and drive the necessary implementation on site.
