Turner Lovell is recruiting a Controls & Automation Technician to join a leading, highly innovative, multi-national engineering services company in Ireland. This is a brilliant opportunity for the right individual to join a well established, highly regarded business that is experiencing growth through their success in the market. This role is based in Dublin, with a hybrid working model between the office and project site.
With the support or the wider team, your responsibilities will include:
- Onsite validation and commissioning of PLC based electrical control systems and instrumentation
- Electrical equipment onsite commissioning
- Checking and testing electrical and instrumentation MCC panels; checking electrical and instrumentation MCC panel wiring schematics
- Fault diagnostics and modification to existing electrical control and automation systems; Factory Acceptance Tests on control panels to ensure compliance with approved documentation; and Site Acceptance Tests and system sign off with client representative.
- Monitoring and optimisation of instrumentation, PLC’s, and electrical control systems.
- Preparation of technical specifications and supervision of sub-contractors.
The ideal profile is someone with:
- Minimum 5 years electrical experience in an industrial / process electrical commissioning role.
- Candidate must be a qualified Electrician with a L6 National Craft Certificate, (Electrical or Instrumentation).
- Strong Technical problem-solving skills; motivated, self-starter with excellent communications skills
- PLC & HMI programming experience is desirable
- Experience within the Water / Wastewater industry is a distinct advantage
