Commercial Manager – Construction Projects

Turner Lovell are recruiting for a Commercial Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor to work for an international engineering and construction contractor. You will join a successful and growing organisation responsible for delivering complex energy facilities across Ireland and the rest of Europe.
The position is ideal for someone who has experience of overseeing large scale construction projects such as new build hospitals, pharmaceutical facilities, power plants, substations or data centres.
Your key responsibility will be to:
- Support Senior Project Manager and Finance Director with all financial related activities in the project.
- Ensure contractual and financial best practice is followed by subcontractors.
- Produce and manage tender packages for various scopes of work
- Prepare final account reconciliation and produce regular progress reports throughout the project.
- Approve subcontractor activity, ensure cost control on materials and services.
- Provide financial and commercial leadership throughout the project.
- Understand contract obligations and sure that claims are then formulated and issued
- Respond to and initiate claims from subcontractors.
The Person:
- Degree qualified in commercial or quantity surveying or building related subject.
- At least 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor
- Previous experience of commercial management on large complex engineering / construction projects £50m+ carrying out the Commercial Management role on a large project, £50M +
- Experience leading projects from procurement to client handover.
- Advance knowledge of civil, mechanical & electrical scopes of work
- Knowledge or interest in complex engineering and construction projects.
- Willingness to work in Ireland
