Resident Engineer – Civil
Location: Limerick, with travel around Ireland
Salary: up to €75,000 + benefits
A leading international engineering contractor is seeking a Civil Resident Engineer to join its expanding power and renewables team in Ireland.
As a Civil Resident Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing on-site civil construction activities, ensuring works are delivered in accordance with design specifications, programme requirements, and safety standards. You will act as the key interface between the civil subcontractor and the wider project team, maintaining a strong focus on quality assurance, progress tracking, and technical compliance.
Key Responsibitities
- Oversee and supervise civil subcontractor activities on-site, ensuring compliance with project specifications, drawings, and approved methodologies.
- Monitor and track construction progress against programme, identifying risks and supporting mitigation strategies where required.
- Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) standards, maintaining accurate site records and documentation.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure works meet required standards and are delivered in line with audit and compliance systems.
- Attend and contribute to site meetings, providing updates on progress, risks, and key project issues.
- Review subcontractor submissions, including material approvals and technical documentation, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
- Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical and commissioning teams, to ensure seamless integration and handover of works.
Ideal Background & Skills
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in supervising civil construction works within infrastructure or energy projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, site practices, and engineering principles.
- Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations and site compliance requirements.
- Experience managing design changes, technical queries, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage workload effectively and deliver under tight project deadlines.
