Civil Inspector

  • Rates: £300 per day, outside IR35

We are currently recruiting for an international client with major projects within their portfolio.

We are looking for a Civil Inspector who has either worked for a principal contractor or client on projects similar to HV substations, offshore substations, energy generation construction projects or major grid connection projects from conception to completion.

As the Civil Inspector, the role will be to inspect the civil activities on site for a major construction project in the UK. In this role, you will support the Site & Project Manager in helping the site team to deliver the civil works of the project.

This role will suit someone with extensive civil construction experience on large projects with the ability and confidence to work independently inspecting works and monitoring quality whilst on site.

Duties:

  • Inspection of civil activities in accordance with Master ITP and contract requirements
  • Prepare inspection reports (ITP’s) and maintain accurate records of all civil / required activities
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that civil activities are integrated into the overall project plans
  • Ensure compliance across site, with industry standards and client requirements
  • To work with the inspectors on site, with the subcontractor, client and all associated stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience on UK civil work projects
  • HND, Degree or equivalent Civil / Structural Engineering qualification
  • Experience working on civil scopes of work >£5m
  • Track record in upholding quality standards in civil construction practices.
  • Relevant site safety, inspection certificates, such as CCNSG & CSCS
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with clients, subcontractors, and project leadership teams.
