Scope of Work: A key role in a growing team that focuses on the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of high-voltage substation equipment (GIS, AIS circuit breakers, and related systems) across Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Turner Lovell is recruiting a Field Service Engineer to join a global leader in sustainable energy and power grid technologies in Ireland. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right individual to join the leader in their specialism You will join the existing team in delivering installation, commissioning, maintenance & repair services on projects throughout Ireland & Northern Ireland, and contributing to energy decarbonisation across the island of Ireland.

Your key responsibilities in the role will include:

  • Plan and execute pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities through to client handover.
  • Develop and manage commissioning schedules, procedures, and manuals.
  • Coordinate with third parties, clients, and regulators to ensure compliance and approvals.
  • Conduct testing, relay programming, fault analysis, and prepare detailed technical reports.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and environmental compliance during all site activities.
  • Support service & maintenance of HV substation assets (38/110/220 kV).

The ideal profile is someone who is:

  • Qualified Electrician / Engineer with proven HV substation experience.
  • Skilled in relay programming, commissioning, and fault diagnostics.
  • Strong technical reporting and documentation capability.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently to deadlines.
  • Strong background in the power sector service & maintenance.
