Lead Automation Engineer – Team Management

As part of their expanding automation division, we are looking for a Lead Automation Engineer to manage a team of engineers and lead the delivery of cutting-edge control architectures for global infrastructure projects.

Your Role:
You will lead the full automation engineering scope across complex international projects — from system architecture and cybersecurity to team leadership and client interaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the technical lead on projects, overseeing a team of engineers and technicians.
- Define automation and communication architectures, including PLCs, HMI, and network interfaces.
- Produce design documentation, installation procedures, and testing protocols.
- Program control systems and contribute to the improvement of engineering tools and standards.
- Oversee deployment of cybersecurity measures on automation systems.
- Collaborate with the CAD team to develop equipment drawings, wiring diagrams, and interface lists.
- Represent the company in technical discussions with clients, certifying bodies, and suppliers.
- Coordinate and execute factory acceptance tests (FAT) with clients and auditors.
- Monitor project schedules, track engineering hours, manage deliverables, and identify cost optimisation opportunities.
- Provide technical input to Sales, Commissioning, and After-Sales teams as required.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering, Industrial IT, or similar.
- At least 15 years of experience in automation, ideally in marine, industrial, or energy sectors.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage complex control system delivery.
- Strong background in PLC programming, HMI systems, and industrial networks.
- Fluent in French and proficient in English.
- Willing and able to travel internationally for project meetings and on-site commissioning.
- Comfortable using engineering tools and project tracking systems.
