Resident Engineer – Building Services (Electrical / Mechanical)

- Rate: £400 – £450 per day, outside IR35
- Start date: ASAP / April 2025 – 6 months contract.

Our client is an international engineering & construction organisation who have strong pipelines in the major renewable energy and power generation sectors, across the UK.
We are looking for a Resident Engineer – Building Services (Electrical biased) who will be responsible for the monitoring and coordination of site teams regarding the design, specification and installation of building services and equipment for a major energy construction project.
Services will include HVAC, security systems, fire systems, lighting, electrical distribution boards, water systems etc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the design team on the co-ordination of services within the overall building design & handover.
- Oversee and supervise the work of the subcontractors on site, ensuring all quality and performance standards are met
- Perform the role of Clerk of Works and Resident Engineer on a large renewable energy construction project
- Supports the Site Manager and installation team with technical advice of building services installation, and provide a snagging list when required
- Ensure that relevant work documentation (RAMS, ITP’s etc) are in place and approved prior to works commencing, and ensuring that they are implemented throughout the project
- Ensure all site works meets HSE standards
- Manage TQ’s with subcontractors and ensure responses are provided within the contractual period of reply
Requirements:
- 5+ Years’ experience in UK Building service installation and commissioning specifically in security systems, fire systems, lighting, LV electrical distribution boards, hot/cold water systems, HVAC etc
- Qualification: NVQ in Building Services or HNC/HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- CSCS / CCNSG card
