HSE Specialist

Turner Lovell is recruiting an HSE Specialist to join a global leader in sustainable energy and power grid technologies in Ireland, offering a fantastic opportunity for the right individual to join the leader in their specialism. You will support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of HSE management systems across the business, working closely with project teams, contractors and management to ensure compliance with Irish legislation and company standards across a growing portfolio of energy infrastructure projects.
Your key responsibilities in the role will include:
· HSE Management Systems: Develop, implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures and programmes in accordance with company standards, Irish legislation and recognised HSE management systems.
· Site Safety & Compliance: Conduct site inspections, audits and risk assessments across project locations, identifying hazards and ensuring appropriate controls and corrective actions are implemented.
· Incident Investigation: Lead and support investigations into incidents, accidents and near misses, carrying out root cause analysis and recommending effective corrective and preventative measures.
· Training & Safety Culture: Support the delivery of HSE training and awareness programmes, working with employees, project teams and contractors to promote best practice and continuously improve safety culture.
· Reporting & Governance: Monitor HSE performance, maintain appropriate documentation, records and permits, and provide management with clear reporting on performance, regulatory developments and emerging risks.
· Project Support: Collaborate with project teams, contractors and external stakeholders to ensure HSE requirements are integrated throughout the full project lifecycle.
The ideal profile is someone who has:
· Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
· 5–7 years+ experience in a dedicated HSE role, ideally within the energy, construction, electrical infrastructure or heavy industry sectors.
· Recognised HSE qualification such as NEBOSH Diploma, NCRQ Diploma or equivalent.
· Strong knowledge of Irish health, safety and environmental legislation and regulations.
· Experience developing and managing HSE management systems, ideally including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
· Strong incident investigation, risk assessment and root cause analysis experience, combined with the communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.
· A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites across Ireland as required.
